Our bus driver packed and raped me after dropping off other pupils.
The Ogun police command have paraded a 36-year-old school bus driver, Humble Michael for allegedly raping a 4-year-old pupil, entrusted to him by the school he was working for.
The spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement on Friday said Michael was being paraded as a result of a complaint lodged by the mother of the child at Ogijo divisional headquarters.
She reported that her husband discovered blood gushing out of the child’s private part when he took her to take her bath.
“The little girl told her parents that the driver of their school bus raped her on the 21st of January 2021 on their way home school.
“After the driver dropped all other school children at their various homes, the driver parked somewhere along the road and raped her.
“The divisional police officer of Ogijo, CSP Muhammed Baba detailed his operatives to go after the suspect and he was subsequently arrested.
“The victim was quickly taken to a general hospital for examination and the doctor’s report confirmed that she had been sexually abused.
“On interrogation, the suspect admitted that he actually committed the crime,” Oyeyemi stated.
Meanwhile, the police commissioner, Edward Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.
He appealed to parents to keep their eyes on their children, especially the females against pedophiles.
He also warned school proprietors to always carryout thorough background check of their employees in order to save their schools from scandals.
