The Malaysian government will introduce a national cyber ethics module in schools across the country to raise awareness and understanding of online safety and digital responsibility among students.
The Minister of Digital, Gobind Singh Deo, announced that the module, set to be rolled out in January 2026, aims to promote ethical and safe online practices among children amid the growing influence of digital gaming and social media platforms.

In a statement, Gobind said the module would provide comprehensive guidance on responsible internet use across six key areas: digital fluency, digital ethics, digital health and well-being, digital commerce, digital privacy and security, as well as digital rights and responsibilities.
He added that a pilot phase of the initiative is currently underway in selected schools nationwide. Findings from the pilot programme, he said, would be used to refine and strengthen the module ahead of its nationwide implementation.
