Learnstar, an edutainment and e-learning platform, aims to institutionalize the creative economy by uniting corporate, policymakers, investors, educators, and creators within a single ecosystem.
Its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Kshitij Sainani, disclosed this at the Learnstar Creative Summit held on Friday in Lagos.
Sainani said Learnstar is built as infrastructure for the creative economy — not just courses or celebrity content — but structured pathways to professional growth.
“Now, the issue and the challenge for creatives and corporate is that there is capital from the corporate side, but they do not know who to back in the creative space.
“We have musicians, painters, artisans, and many different kinds of creatives, but they do not know where to go to find capital.
“So, if we as a community can come together and build an ecosystem where the creative and corporate worlds can meet, learn, and network, we hope that capital can flow to the right places in the creative economy,” he said.
Sainani, however, urged governments to support the platform and creatives by providing the right infrastructure.
“Provide us with the right infrastructure in terms of internet access; give us more co-working spaces where we can activate and send these students to learn.
“Also, for our Skills4All programme, if we can have government support by providing scholarships to children, it will be a big win, not only for us as a company but for the country as a whole,” he said.
Also speaking, Learnstar’s Director of Operations and Technology, Mr Temi Toba, said the creative sector accounts for a large share of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), highlighting its economic importance.
Toba added that the platform aims to bridge sector gaps by improving access to opportunities, finance, and resources.
He explained that it does this by having top-tier creatives share their expertise, guiding newcomers from point A to point B in their careers.
One of the panellists at the summit, Mr Oluwasegun Ogungbemi, Senior Community Manager at Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), spoke on the “Power of the Community.”
“We have many creatives in Nigeria; however, they are working in isolation. One of the things we do at CcHUB is build communities for innovative people to thrive.
“These communities create an enabling environment that helps creatives succeed in their careers,” he said.
It was reported that Learnstar is an African-focused edutainment and e-learning platform designed to provide video courses for creatives and professionals.
The platform bridges the gap between traditional education and industry needs by offering mentorship in fields such as music, fashion, entrepreneurship, and sports, accessible via mobile and web.
