A global technology company, Zoho, has partnered with Babcock University to equip over 50 students with practical digital skills in low-code application development.
Mr. Kehinde Ogundare, Country Head of Zoho Nigeria, said on Wednesday that the initiative, part of the Young Creators Programme, trained students from various disciplines, including Computer Science, Business, and Information Technology.
“The training enables students to build business-ready applications using Zoho Creator, our low-code development platform,” Ogundare said. “The three-day workshop introduced students to practical problem-solving and the latest advancements in cloud technology, allowing them to design customized business solutions without advanced programming knowledge.”
He added that the programme also fosters understanding of how low-code tools can support entrepreneurship and digital transformation. “Through this collaboration with Babcock University, we aim to empower young innovators to develop solutions that address real business challenges while strengthening Nigeria’s technology ecosystem,” Ogundare said.
Ogundare noted that discussions are ongoing to integrate Zoho applications into the university’s curriculum, enabling students to apply digital solutions to real-world business problems.
Dr. Ayodeji Ajibade, Director of the Babcock Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (BCED), said the partnership aligns with the centre’s mission to prepare students for leadership in a rapidly evolving digital economy. “This training bridges the gap between classroom knowledge and practical application, giving students access to industry-standard tools and experiences,” he said.
Launched in 2022, the Young Creators Programme has trained over 2,000 students globally, equipping them with the confidence and skills to pursue careers and entrepreneurial ventures in technology.
