Muhammad Musa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal Vice-Chairman for Sokoto East, on Tuesday praised the success of democracy in the state.
He attributed this success to the leadership of Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District.
Speaking to journalists, Musa said the state government under Gov. Ahmed Aliyu had continued to achieve uninterrupted progress, delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people.
He noted that the peaceful emergence of all APC candidates in the state demonstrated how effectively democracy could meet citizens’ needs.
“For us in the eastern zone of Sokoto State, where security challenges remain a top priority, we have witnessed genuine commitment from the government and our leaders,” Musa said.
He also spoke positively about Umar Ajiyan-Isa, the zone’s aspirant, highlighting his longstanding dedication to public service even before entering politics.
“His presence will not only bring relief to our security situation but will also support government efforts to improve the living standards of our people,” Musa added.
According to Musa, Ajiyan-Isa has been actively involved in humanitarian efforts across Sokoto East.
He has provided over 250 bags of grain and cash support to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) following an attack in Gandi village, Rabah Local Government Area. He also donated food items and N2 million in cash to affected families.
Additionally, Ajiyan-Isa supported APC party operations by donating a new Toyota Camry to each of the eight local government APC chairmen in the zone. He distributed 1,000 motorcycles to party leaders to facilitate movement during the 2027 general election campaign.
On health, Musa noted that Ajiyan-Isa distributed 1,000 delivery kits to the eight general hospitals in the zone, aiming to reduce maternal deaths and assist families unable to afford medical care, especially for pregnant women.
Musa estimated that the aspirant has spent over N18 million supporting IDPs and vulnerable residents in the region.
The zonal vice-chairman expressed confidence in APC’s prospects for the 2027 elections, assuring that the party would win across all eight LGAs in Sokoto East and beyond.
He urged the electorate to recognize the government’s efforts and President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to the people.
