Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has inaugurated people-oriented projects in Oron Local Government Area as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.
The projects include a Model Primary Health Centre, a Youth Development Centre, 4.2km Effiong Esang and Ukpong Streets, an 800-metre drainage project, and an administrative building at the council secretariat.
Speaking at the inauguration, the governor urged the people of Oron to take full advantage of the health centre to access quality and affordable healthcare services.
Eno stated that Youth Development Centres would be replicated across all 31 local government areas of the state.
He urged youths to utilise the facilities for personal development and the overall progress of the state.
The governor said that when completed across the state, the centres would train no fewer than 31,000 youths annually in ICT, fashion design, catering, and other skills.
He added that his administration deliberately created a Ministry of Youth Development to give priority attention to youth empowerment.
Eno explained that government projects at the grassroots are aimed at decentralising development and reducing rural-urban migration.
He assured the people of Oron of his continued commitment to transformative initiatives if re-elected for a second term.
