Gov Ahmed Aliyu urges new APC LG executives to secure 2027 victory

Governor Ahmed Aliyu has called on the newly elected APC local government executives to work diligently to ensure the party’s success in the 2027 elections in Sokoto State.

The governor gave the charge in Bodinga Local Government Area while rounding off his monitoring of the party congresses in Sokoto South, Wamakko, and Bodinga LGAs.

He assured the newly elected officials of the state government’s full support to enable them to succeed in their assignments.

“I am satisfied with the arrangements made in all the areas I visited, as well as the maturity exhibited by the delegates,” the governor said.

“I want to commend the APC National Secretariat for sending competent officials to conduct the congresses in the state,” he added.

Governor Aliyu further assured the people of Sokoto that the APC remains united and strong in the state, and called on party members to renew their dedication and commitment to taking the party to greater heights.

Also speaking, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, who hails from Bodinga LGA, commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for the numerous people-oriented projects being executed across the state.

“Mr. Governor, you have taken us by surprise because you are doing much more than we expected,” he said.

The minister called on the people of the state to continue supporting the present administration at both the federal and state levels to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

He also urged the newly elected APC officials in Bodinga LGA to dedicate themselves to ensuring the party secures more votes in the 2027 elections.

In his remarks, State APC Chairman Isa Saddiq Achida congratulated the newly elected executives and charged them to work tirelessly for the development of the party in the state.

He noted that the Ahmed Aliyu-led administration has recorded tremendous achievements in all sectors, hence the need for continued support.

The new APC local government executives emerged through consensus and were endorsed by key stakeholders across the 23 local government areas of the state. In total, 27 officials were elected to serve as party executives in each LGA.

Notable among them:

  • Sokoto South LGA: Hayatu Muhammad (Chairman), Yakubu Dauda Indiye (Vice Chairman), Hamza Atiku (Secretary).
  • Wamakko LGA: Umaru Nabara (Chairman), Masarana Wamakko (Vice Chairman), Sani Aliyu Maisango (Secretary).
  • Bodinga LGA: Isa Aliyu (Chairman), Ahmed Tsoho (Vice Chairman), Umar Aliyu Dingyadi (Secretary).

The governor was accompanied on the monitoring exercise by the Member representing Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency, Ahmed Abdullahi Kalambaina; State APC Chairman, Isa Saddiq Achida; Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa; Chief of Staff, Government House Sokoto, Aminu Haliru Dikko, mni; representative of the APC leader in the state, Bashiru Gidan Kanawa; commissioners; special advisers; senior special assistants; and other party stalwarts.
