ASHENEWS reports that the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has promised to provide job opportunities, and youth and women empowerment if voted to power in the 2023 general elections.

Ahmed Aliyu said this when the party continued with its state-wide zonal campaign at the Gwadabawa Local Government Area of the state on Monday.

According to him, a month after his inauguration as Governor, he will restore the payment of monthly allowances for people with disabilities, Chief Imams of Jumu’at Mosques, and create jobs for the youth which were all neglected by the PDP-led government in the state.

Aliyu stated that by providing the allowances to Imams of Jumu’at Mosques and their deputies, it will ensure they give good upbringing to the younger generation so as to curtail the menace of restiveness among them.

He further explained that the PDP government in the State was virtually doing nothing to enhance the productivity of the people of the state.

Ahmed therefore promised to ensure the welfare of the generality of the people of the state, if elected as Governor come the March election.

The chairman of the Campaign Council, who is also APC leader in the State, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, said APC is selling its good manifesto to the good people of Sokoto State.

He said the campaign council had paid a visit to the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III for his fatherly and royal advice.

Sen. Wamakko revealed that the Sultan has concurred with the good plan rolled out by the party.

The Director General of the state campaign Council, who is also the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, challenged the government in power to prove to the people of Gwadabawa area of any tangible project executed in the area before seeking for another mandate from the electorate.

He further called on people of Sokoto East Senatorial Zone to come out en masse during the polls to vote for APC towards bringing succour and the direly needed dividends of democracy to the people of Sokoto State.

Also speaking, Senate Leader, Sen. Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, said APC is the party to beat, adding, “therefore, people of the state should come out massively to depend their votes to ensure the party emerge victorious during the forthcoming polls.”

He announced his total support to the candidature of Ibrahim Lamido Isa, his hopeful successor in the zone, calling on all his supporters to vote for Lamido as Senatorial candidate in the area.

The APC Chairman, Isah Sadiq Acida, went down memory lane on the myriad of invaluable projects executed by the former Governor Wamakko in Gwadabawa Local Government.

The Chairman later received some 5,575 decampees from NNPP and PDP who joined APC.

Some of the defectors, Murtala Maigummi and Hauwa’u Muhammad, who spoke on behalf of others said they abandoned  their former parties as their leaders lacked focus to drive them as hugely  expected.

Other speakers at the occasion included, member, House of Representatives from Goronyo/Gada Federal Constituency, Musa S. Adar; Senatorial candidate in the zone, Ibrahim Lamido Isa, Gwadabawa Local Government campaign Coordinator, also member, representing Gwadabawa East, Bello Idris; Kasimu Alkali, Ibrahim Sidi Gwadabawa and APC Chairman in Gwadabawa Local Government Umar Sanda Gigane, among others.

They all concurred that APC is the answer in the area and generally in the State.

The occasion had in attendance  many APC leaders, supporters and loyalists who converged on Gwadabawa town to witness the historic gathering.
