The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Borno state, Umar Alkali Nasco, has described the guber poll conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as invalid.
The candidate, who was at his Alhaji Bulama 004 polling unit, in Lamisula Jabbamari of Maiduguri metropolis, also asked the electoral umpire to provide reasons for the party’s missing logo from the ballot, even after filing complain with the Commission.
According to Nasco, INEC witnessed and endorsed his primary elections on 3rd August, 2022 where he got 82 votes and emerged gubernatorial candidate of the party.
He reiterated that the issue of omitting his name was earlier identified when INEC published its list, which ought to have been corrected now as he had complained.
According to him, this election is invalid.
Nasco then described the voter turn out as discouraging making reference to alledged malpractices in the last elections.
The NNPP representatives called on the electorates to remain calm as they exercise their franchise.
