The United States Congress on Thursday, certified the President-elect Joe Biden’s win to become the 46th American president.
The certification, which came after Capitol Hill occupation by President Donald Trump-sponsored mob Wednesday evening, had Biden garnering 306 votes against Trump who got 232 votes.
The process, monitored by ASHENEWS on CNN, was certified by Congress in a joint session presided over by the US vice-president, Mike Pence.
Trump however said that although he did not agreed with the outcome of the election, there would be an “orderly transition.”
“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th,” he stated.
