A cross section of Nigerians have taken to the social media in reaction to a trending video of a lawyer who who allegedly burnt his wig to express his displeasure over the judgment.
The lawyer reportedly burnt his wig in alleged reaction to the judgement of the presidential tribunal, which dismissed the petitions file by Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi on Wednesday.
The Tribunal, while ruling on whether the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was right to return All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as the duly elected by a majority of lawful votes cast, held that Atiku did not successfully prove his petition seeking to remove Tinubu from office.
The Tribunal also struck out the petition filed by Peter Obi.
The judgment was delivered by the Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Haruna Tsammani, assisted by other members of the panel-Justices Stephen Adah, Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf, Moses Ugo and Abba Mohammed.
However, reacting to the lawyer’s action, Nigerians who found it unnecessary, condemned him.
