The Founder of PharmaChill Technology, Adedayo Adefarakan, says harnessing technology to overcome logistical challenges will ensure that temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals reach those who need them and impact public health outcomes.
Adefarakan in a statement on Thursday in Lagos said transparency and visibility in the last-mile delivery of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals were crucial for ensuring the efficacy of healthcare interventions.
Last-mile temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical delivery starts once the products reach the final transportation hub, before journeying directly to the end consumer.
This ‘last mile’ can often be the most complex part of the delivery process, as some pharmaceutical products must be delivered to remote locations at temperature-controlled storage conditions.
“By leveraging the capabilities of PharmaChill Boxes, we can revolutionise vaccine transportation and pharmaceutical distribution in Nigeria, ultimately saving lives and advancing public health goals,” he said.
According to him, PharmaChill tech represents a breakthrough in healthcare logistics, offering a solution that monitors, logs, and reports geo-temperature data in real time.
Adefarakan said that the technology could raise alarms in case of temperature anomalies, and ensures the integrity and safety of sensitive biopharmaceuticals, minimising damage and risk to patients.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration in realising the full potential of PharmaChill Boxes.
“We invite hospitals, public immunisation coordinators, NGOs, and brands to join us in this transformative journey.
“Together, we can harness the power of technology to overcome logistical challenges and ensure that temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals reach those who need them most.”
Adefarakan said PharmaChill’s innovative solution not only promises to enhance the efficiency and reliability of healthcare logistics but also aligns with the broader global agenda for sustainable development.
“In recognition of its innovative approach and social impact, PharmaChill tech recently received the prestigious GreenHouse awards for its contributions towards several UN Sustainable Development Goals,” he said.
He stressed that by partnering PharmaChill, tech stakeholders had the opportunity to contribute to positive change and make a tangible impact on public health outcomes in Nigeria.
