ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state governor, Mohammed Bago has assured workers in the state that his administration will continue to provide a conducive working environment for them.
The governor stated this in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim to commemorate this year’s Workers Day.
The Niger state governor, in the statement, lauded officials of organised labour and the entire workers in the state for their resilience and understanding in the face of the harsh economy and security challenges bedevilling the State.
He stressed that his administration recognises their importance in the implementation of policies in any government.
“He observed that a vibrant workforce is essential and critical to achieving good governance.
“Farmer Governor Umaru Bago then expressed the determination of his administration to continue to evolve strategies to make the Civil Service more efficient and effective in service delivery.
“On the new Minimum Wage and other welfare of workers, the Farmer Governor assured them of his commitment, stressing that provision of conducive working environment for better performance would not be compromised.”
The Governor also reminded the workers of the need to ensure professionalism and keep to the ethics of the Civil Service, even as they remain focused, dedicated and committed in the discharge of their duties.
