The Director-General of the President Tinubu Ethical Political Ideology Movement (TEPIM), Dr. Bridget Torbua Igbauke, has called on Nigerians to shun violence and embrace peaceful coexistence.
Speaking during a press conference on Friday in Abuja, Igbauke urged women at home and abroad to “speak peace into the ears of their husbands, uncles, brothers, and sons,” noting that violence affects women and children more than anyone else.
She commended the Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, for initiating peace and anti-social behaviour programmes across the six geopolitical zones, describing the initiatives as crucial to advancing President Tinubu’s Ethical Political Ideology and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Igbauke said: “Peace and development are like siamese twins with one umbilical cord; they cannot do without each other. Violence is bad business—it destroys people, properties, and tears the fabric of society apart. It is the bane of underdevelopment.
“We must do everything necessary to avoid violence because it is an anathema to our society. We must go the extra mile to love our neighbours as ourselves, regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender, political affiliation, or creed.”
She also offered prayers for President Tinubu, asking God to strengthen him and enable him to accomplish all the good works he has begun in Nigeria.
