ASHENEWS reports that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has called on the southeast governors, Igbo religious leaders, and traditional medics, to assist Ndigbo because, according to him, the 42 different Igbo deities and divinities in Ohanaeze Ndigbo were angry with its leadership.

The Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro in a statement obtained by ASHENEWS claimed that the deities who were “meant to give spiritual guidance and protection for all Igbos are angry with Igbo leadership and political elites”.

The anger, he further claimed is “for the blasphemous atrocities which were considered as an anathema, and the consequences for the impunity is the curses from the ecclesiastical authorities and Igbo deities laid on Igbo leaders which has resulted in incessant deaths in Ohanaeze and southeast.

“Ndigbo knows what is responsible for the deaths in the southeast, is the failure of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to speak the truth at all times to constituted authorities, especially to erring southeast governors and corrupt politicians who contaminated the Ohanaeze modus of operandi and politicized the apex Igbo leadership with thrival issues.

“There is an urgent need to cleanse and purify the Igbo secretariat from the horribleness and atrocities which has infuriated the 42 Igbo deities and divinities guiding the Ohanaeze Ndigbo secretariat to pour their venomous anger on mortals who have resorted in manipulating the system for their individual gains at the expense of Ndigbo ravaging in insecurity challenges and dwindling economy of the Southeast,” Isiguzoro stated.

While commiserating with all families who had lost their sons and daughters in Ohanaeze and the southeast, Isiguzoro prayed “that the Igbo deities will be appeased to halt further deaths in the southeast, except there is sanctification and purification in Ohanaeze secretariat, the offenders of Igbo deities and saboteurs of Igbo causes will face the wrath of the gods soon.”
