Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has unleashed a full-scale investigation into explosive allegations linking the State Commissioner for Transport, Ibrahim Namadi, to the infamous drug baron Sulaiman Aminu Dan Wawu.
The probe follows alarming reports that Namadi played a key role in securing the controversial bail of Dan Wawu, igniting public outrage across the state.
Moving to save government image, Governor Yusuf has appointed a seven-man special investigative panel to dig deep into the murky circumstances that facilitated the drug lord’s release.
The committee, chaired by Barrister Aminu Hussain, Special Adviser on Justice and Constitutional Matters, is tasked with uncovering the full truth and recommending swift, decisive action.
The panel’s membership features prominent legal, military, and civil society figures including Bilkisu Maimota, Barrister Hamza Haladu, Barrister Hamza Nuhu Dantani, Abdullahi Mahmoud Umar, retired Major General Sani Muhammad, and Kabiru Said Dakata.
Governor Yusuf expressed grave concern over the alleged misconduct, underscoring his government’s unwavering commitment to combating drug abuse and social vices in Kano State.
The ongoing investigation is a clear message that no one is above the law, as the administration moves swiftly to expose and address any corruption within its ranks.
