ASHENEWS reports that a first-time member, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji has emerged as Speaker of the 10th Niger State House of Assembly.
Sarkin-Daji was nominated by the member representing the Bida II constituency, Mr Mohammed Haruna while Abdulrahman Gambo (APC-Borgu) seconded the motion.
Mrs. Afiniki Dauda (APC-Gurara) was equally elected as the Deputy Speaker by the member representing the Paiko constituency, Pharm. Umar Nasir.
Thereafter, the clerk of the house, Mr Abdullahi Kagara administered the Oath of Office and Allegiance to the nominated Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
