The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has opened applications for multiple positions across its institutions, with a deadline of April 30, 2026.
In a notice published on its official website, the regional bloc invited qualified candidates from member states to apply for roles spanning administration, finance, trade, infrastructure, health, telecommunications, legal affairs, and security.
The recruitment covers dozens of positions across several countries. While many roles are based in Abuja, others are located in Dakar, Conakry, Addis Ababa, and Monrovia.
Available positions range from office aides and programme assistants to accountants, legal officers, political advisers, and senior roles such as directors and principal officers.
Applicants are required to submit a completed application form, curriculum vitae, and cover letter via email before the deadline.
ECOWAS set age limits at 35 years for general service roles, 45 years for professional positions, and 50 years for director-level roles, adding that female candidates are encouraged to apply.
The organisation outlined age limits based on job categories:
- Up to 35 years for general service positions
- Up to 45 years for professional roles
- Up to 50 years for director-level positions
- Female applications are encouraged
The organisation said only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and advised applicants to regularly check its website for updates.
It also stressed that the recruitment process is free and does not require payment or submission of bank details.
ECOWAS, established on May 28, 1975, promotes economic integration and cooperation among West African countries. Its institutions include the ECOWAS Parliament, the Community Court of Justice, the West African Health Organization (WAHO), and the Intergovernmental Action Group against Money Laundering (GIABA).
