The Oyo State Government has presented a customised vehicle to the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) to support operations at Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan.
A statement issued Friday in Ibadan by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, said the vehicle was provided to enhance the airport’s critical aviation infrastructure.
The Chairman of the Airport Upgrade Committee, Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi, said the vehicle is equipped with unique communication aids. He added that the donation reinforces the government’s commitment to upgrading the airport, noting that local flights have resumed while construction continues on the international terminal.

“As part of the Oyo State Government’s commitment to upgrading Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, we are presenting this specialised vehicle. It is fully equipped with communication aids to support NAMA’s critical functions, including access to the airside and coordination with the instrument landing system,” Adekanmbi said.
He added, “Local flights are ongoing, and we remain committed to completing the international terminal so international operations can resume.”
In response, NAMA Manager Mr. Gbenga Famosipe, represented by Mr. Olumide Odutayo, expressed gratitude to the governor, stating the vehicle will enhance operational safety at the airport.
