OmniRetail, Africa’s leading B2B e-commerce platform, has successfully launched its 50th Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) distribution franchise. The event brought together retail value chain stakeholders to celebrate the expansion of the OmniHub franchise network.

This milestone reinforced OmniRetail’s mission to transform the FMCG distribution landscape across Africa, empowering thousands of retailers and enhancing product accessibility in underserved communities.

The launch was a resounding success, featuring panel discussions with industry leaders, interactive sessions with OmniHub franchise partners, and engagements with retailers. The company highlighted how its expansion to 50 OmniHubs across Nigeria has empowered over 100,000 retailers, giving them access to a wide variety of products from over 200 leading brands.

OmniHub addresses challenges such as supply chain disruptions, inflation, and fluctuating consumer behavior by establishing nationwide warehouses, providing real-time data on purchases, and offering credit facilities to retailers.

At the unveiling of the 50th multi-brand FMCG retail hub, the founder and CEO of OmniRetail Technology, Deepankar Rustagi, emphasized the firm’s support for distributors and its role in cultivating entrepreneurs. He noted that OmniHub equips these entrepreneurs with credit in the form of products, allowing them to scale their businesses.

“We will cultivate more entrepreneurs from this market, creating business hub owners who are ready to service their areas,” Rustagi added, underscoring OmniHub’s contribution to job growth amidst nationwide challenges.

Chief Operating Officer Wale Adisa also highlighted OmniHub’s commitment to solving distribution challenges, particularly in remote areas. “As OmniRetail continues to expand, we plan to open an additional 250 OmniHubs by 2025, furthering our ‘network of networks’ model,” Adisa said. “Our asset-light strategy is central to OmniRetail’s vision of empowering local entrepreneurs and boosting economic growth through scalable, technology-driven solutions. We invite people with commercial space who wish to enter the FMCG distribution sector to partner with us.”

Adisa further explained that OmniHub provides manufacturers with data on nationwide purchases, adding, “We strongly believe in the potential of the FMCG and retail business, though many roadblocks persist. We work with numerous manufacturers to ensure their products reach retailers across the country.”

OmniHub’s large-scale warehouse strategy was conceived to address the issue of limited product availability outside Lagos. “The further you are from Lagos, the harder it is to find certain products consistently,” Adisa explained. “We took on the challenge, setting up warehouses from which we distribute across the states.”

According to Adisa, the OmniHub franchise model enables aspiring distributors to become partners by providing secure distribution spaces and earning monthly income. OmniHub also supports retailers by offering a “buy now, pay later” option, providing credit to help them grow their businesses. “This innovative approach helps retailers expand, deepen sales, and succeed, especially in challenging times,” he added.

The OmniHub franchise partners shared their experiences, emphasizing the growth opportunities OmniHub has created through its decentralized distribution model, with many franchisees now earning significant monthly revenue.

Manufacturers, such as Flour Mills Nigeria, have praised OmniHub’s innovative approach, which ensures product availability and reduces stockouts. Mr. Sunil Singh, Head of Sales and Distribution at Flour Mills Nigeria, commended the OmniHub franchise model and pledged continued support and partnership.
