ASHENEWS reports that the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap has disclosed that a total of 107,646 produced passports have it been collected.
The iinformation is contained in a statement posted on the Service X handle @nigimmigration on Friday.

“The Comptroller General Immigration Service, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsm, is passionately appealing to applicants whose passports have been produced to go for pick-up at the various Passports Issuing Centres across the country.

“The CGIS hinted that a total number of 107, 646 produced passports are awaiting collection. However, efforts made at reaching out to the owners have proved abortive,” she said.
She therefore advised applicants to always provide verifiable addresses and phone numbers when filling their online passport application forms for easy contact.
Consequently, the CG directed that all Passport Offices in Lagos should operate on Saturdays between 9am – 2pm to attend to applicants coming for the collection of their produced passports only.
“Therefore, those concerned are hereby informed to take advantage of this opportunity”, the statement added.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is a governmental organization responsible for border security and migration management in Nigeria. It was established by the Act of Parliament in 1963.
In 2015, the 1963 Act was repealed and replaced with the Immigration Act 2015 which positions the service with the legal instrument to combat the Smuggling of migrants (SOM) in Nigeria.
