ASHENEWS reports that the Niger state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has sought for partnership with the Indian government on the use of technology to boost the state’s agriculture and health sector.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Bologi Ibrahim said that the governor sought collaboration with the Indian government during a meeting with the Indian High Commissioner, Gangadharan Balasubramanian in Abuja.
The statement said that the Indian government would assist the Niger State government in securing a loan for the purchase of tractors, improved seedlings, water pumping machines, and harvesters among other farm implements to lunch the state into mechanized farming, making the best of its arable land.
“The Governor also spoke on his intention to build one of the best teaching hospitals in Nigeria to cater to the health needs of the citizens in the state and beyond.
“He said in this regard, the Indian government will be of immense benefit in terms of teaching and training,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Indian High Commissioner, Gangadharan Balasubramanian said that the state government was open to providing loans to the Niger State government.
