The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students in Europe (NANSE), Muhammad Saidu Bashiru, has congratulated the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto state, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko over the victory recorded by the party.

He, in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, also congratulated the governor-elect, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto for his victory during the March 18, 2023 governorship election in the state.

Describing Wamakko’s victory as a good and timely development in the history of Sokoto state, Bashiru commended the former governor for his courage, political dexterity and maturity.

He called on the other governorship candidates of other political parties to join hands with Aliyu Sokoto in building a prosperous state.

“I congratulate the Distinguished Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko; the governor-elect, Ahmed Aliyu, the entire All Progressives Congress (APC) family, and the generality of the people of Sokoto state on the outcome of the governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

“Aliyu Sokoto’s victory in the poll is a testimony that the leader, Senator Wamakko is a force to reckon with, as well as his general acceptability in the state.

“The governor-elect as a youth, the Sokoto youth now have a chance for excelling in all their endeavours. No doubt, Ahmed Aliyu will take the state to greater heights in view of his youthful capacity.

“I am optimistic that he will run an all-inclusive and participatory government where the youth and women will be given the opportunity to contribute their quota for the development of the state. The people of Sokoto will surely not be disappointed in his leadership,” Bashiru stated.
