Lagos youthful and energetic political figure, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has been installed into the special “Omoluabi” royal elite circle of the Ijo Olorisa Parapo in the Badagry Division of the state as “Obalefun“.
With this, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Labour Party in the state—and a 2027 gubernatorial hopeful—was conferred with the chieftaincy title of “Obalefun” by Oba Aderemi Oyebamiji Gbadegeshin Adedokun Ayinla, the Alase Oosa Agbaye/Ancient Deities Ijo Olorisa Agbaye.
The coronation ceremony was attended by Baales, under the authority of the Akran of Badagry and a Permanent Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Chiefs.
The Baales, who graced the event bearing one of IBILE’s stamps of authority to underscore the importance of the new Lagos chief as a true son of the soil, included Babatunde Wusu, the Onitiju Baale of Yovokome Boekoh, Badagry.
IBILE is an acronym for the five divisions that make up Lagos State socio-culturally and politically: Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, and Epe (IBILE). Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour hails from the Popo Aguda area of Lagos Island, and his family background is well known and respected.
At the event, which was held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Badagry, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour—popularly known as GRV—was also inducted as the Peace Ambassador of the Ijo Olorisa Parapo in recognition of his role in advancing social welfare, peace, and the development of the people and the state’s environment.
Gbadebo was present for the installation on Saturday, accompanied by his family, particularly his parents and wife.
