The Kogi State Government has responded to a viral voice note by a female civil servant accusing the administration of ethnic bias in civil service recruitment.
In the voice note, the woman alleged the exclusion of Ebira youths from employment opportunities in the state civil service.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, in a statement on Saturday in Lokoja, refuted the allegation and urged citizens to remain calm.
Fanwo said Governor Ahmed Ododo’s administration is committed to inclusive, active listening, and responsive governance.

While acknowledging the civil servant’s right to air her views, he noted that some individuals were trying to sensationalize the issue.
“Governor Ododo has sworn to serve the state without bias. Civil service employment will be based on competence, capacity, and resource availability. This will ensure fair representation across the state,” Fanwo stated.
He added that the administration remains committed to transparency, public enlightenment, and continuous citizen engagement.
Fanwo also assured that the government has directed adequate protection for the concerned civil servant and has strengthened internal feedback mechanisms to address grievances promptly.
