ASHENEWS reports that the Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris has donated a building to a private online television known as ‘Kauran Gwandu Television’, KGTV, based in Birnin Kebbi.
The proprietor and the CEO of the television, Yahaya Abubakar disclosed this on Sunday at the presentation of certificates to 10 youths who acquired skills in online media production.
Abubakar who lauded the governor for the donation said that it would aid the smooth operation of the online outfit.
“I have no words to thank Governor Nasir Idris for the marvelous donation of a studio to carry out our activities.
“On many occasions, the governor has supported me morally and financially, this is because of my effort in propagating the programmes and activities of the government.
“I also want to seize this opportunity to thank the following personalities for their uncountable assistance for the smooth running of KGTV.”
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki lauded the governor’s gesture, acknowledging that the building would serve as the operating studio of the online television.
Sarki said that the gesture was aimed at complementing the efforts of government-owned media houses in propagating the activities of the state government.
Sarki lauded the state government for providing a conducive environment for journalists in the state to operate freely devoid of subjectiveness.
“I can assure that the governor will continue to support the establishment of private TV and Radio stations in the state, provide welfare to journalists, and make information accessible to them,” he assured.
