Governor Abubakar Sani Bello on Thursday commissioned a 36.9km road at Wuya, Summan-Lemu Road, in the Gbako local government area of Niger State.
The rehabilitation of the road was facilitated by the Niger State Government in collaboration with the Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP).
Speaking at the event, Gov. Bello said that the project will ease the lives of farmers in rural areas.
According to him, farmers will be able to transport their foods from the rural areas to the markets without difficulties.
Bello urged residents of the area to take ownership of the road and prevent heavy-duty trucks from using the road.
This he said, is to avoid premature dilapidation of the road due to excess pressure by heavy-duty trucks.
Also speaking, the Niger State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Yusuf Muhammad Gunu disclosed that the state government would be commissioning 17 projects in the state very soon.
