Niger Governor Umaru Bago on Wednesday paid Sallah visits to two former Nigerian military leaders – Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar.
During the visits to their residences in Minna, Bago explained that paying homage to the elder statesmen was necessary because of their significant contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development.
He noted that the duo have continued to remain relevant to society through their wise counsel.
Bago added that their guidance and support have encouraged him to strive for good governance.

He said his administration would continue to honour them and other distinguished personalities in the state.
The two elder statesmen appreciated Governor Bago and his entourage for the visit and prayed for peace and prosperity in the country.
