Evidence for Action Mamaye Activity (E4A), with funding from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has honoured some members of the Bauchi State Accountability Mechanism for Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (BaSAM) in Bauchi.
The members were honoured during the occasion of the close out of the project in held at Hazibal hotel, Bauchi.
The Co-chair, Mr. Abu John Yusuf in a statement by the public relations officer of BaSAM, Bashir Hassan Abubakar made available to newsmen on Friday, said the award was in recognition of their outstanding commitment, passion and dedication to the activities of BaSAM, which sought to improve reproductive, maternal child health and nutrition.
The country lead of E4A Mamaye, Esther Agbon said that the award was to further encourage the recipients to sustain their advocacy for improved MNCH in Bauchi state.
Agbon, represented by the Accountability, and Health Budget Advisor of, Musa Mohammed, said that E4A Mamaye is proud of the awardees and BaSAM performance in general.
“This award is in recognition of your contribution towards improved Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) in Bauchi State and I urge you to sustain beyond E4A.”
Those awarded were the office of the DPRS, Bauchi State Ministry of Health, BaSAM Co-chair (CSO) Abu John Yusuf, Usman Muhammad of Evidence Subcommittee, Ladan Isah Dalhatu of Advocacy Subcommittee and Elizabeth Kah of Knowledge, Management and Communication (KMC) subcommittee, accordingly.
Other awardees include: Assistant Secretary of BaSAM, Mubarak Muhammad, a member of the advocacy subcommittee, Ahmed Sani, a member of the KMC subcommittee, Bulak Afsa and the PRO of the Coalition, Bashir Hassan Abubakar, respectively.
Responding on behalf of the awardees, the Co-chair (CSO), Mr. Abu John Yusuf thanked E4A Mamaye for the honour and assured that it will spur BaSAM to always strive to upscale its activities with a view to improving the lives of mothers and children in Bauchi state.
Mr. Yusuf also informed all health related State MDAs and Implementing Partners in Bauchi State of BaSAM’s readiness to collaborate in the coalition’s areas of competence, that is primarily anchored towards primary health care services and other public health concerns.
