Dangote Coal Mines Limited and host communities in Benue State have signed a landmark Community Development Agreement (CDA), hailed by government officials as a major milestone in fostering corporate-community relations.
The agreement outlines Dangote Coal’s commitment to implementing social development projects in education, healthcare, roads, and water infrastructure, aligning with government efforts to improve local living conditions.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dangote Coal representative Nuhu Elujah described the agreement as a “breakthrough in our effort to touch lives,” emphasizing that it provides a clear framework for engagement with the Abache Community.
The federal government, represented by Ms. Bimbo Adams of the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, lauded the pact as a “new era for peace and development.” At the state level, the ministry was represented by Mrs. Adijetu Usman.
The Ward Head of Ugbokolo, Emmanuel Ikom commended Dangote Coal for its various development projects across the three host communities in Okpokwu Local Government Area (LGA) and encouraged the company to sustain its efforts.
Similarly, Abache community representative, Mr. Sunday Onoko Aluh, expressed gratitude to Dangote Coal for making the agreement a reality and pledged the community’s cooperation to ensure harmonious coexistence and accelerated development.
Traditional leaders at the event applauded the company’s ongoing social interventions and described the agreement as a “win-win” for all stakeholders.
