A 47 year old Emeka in Nnewi of Anambra state on Thursday, went berserk and killed his aged mother, two of his children and wounded three others.

A statement by the Spokesperson of the state Command, DSP Haruna Mohammed on Friday said, the culprit who hails from Okpuneze Uruagu Nnewi, has been arrested by Police operatives attached to Nnewi division.

“Suspect allegedly ran amok in a circumstance yet to be ascertained, attacked and killed two of his biological children namely Ifechukwu Ezimadu, a nine years old boy and Mmeso Ezimadu, aged two years and his own mother one Agnes Ezimadu, aged 85 years.

“He equally used the same offensive weapon and injured his three other children namely Nonso Ezimadu aged 12 years, Chinaemerem Ezimadu aged 11 years and Ngozi Ezimadu aged 8 years of same address,”the statement reads.

According to him, the victims were rushed to Akwudo hospital for immediate treatment but two of the children and the aged mother were certified dead by a Doctor.

He added that three other children were receiving treatment while the three corpses were deposited at Akwudo hospital morgue for autopsy.

The case has been transferred to State CID Awka for further investigation.
