ASHENEWS reports that the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has reacted to the petition of his Aide, Mrs Simisola Fajemirokun Ajayi on alleged sexual harassment against the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ibrahim Adamu Lamuwa.
He has formally written to the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan.
Mrs Ajayi had alleged that Lamuwa had sexually harassed her, allegation that the Permanent Secretary waved aside, accusing her that she was frustrated because he denied her access to certain privileges and other financial requests that could not be defended,
Tuggar, in his letter dated May 27, 2024, and addressed to the Head of Service, says in view of the gravity of the allegation, “I feel it necessary to draw your attention to it and ask that you handle it accordingly.”

RE: OFFICIAL COMPLAINT REGARDING SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF MRS SIMISOLA FAJEMIROKUN AJAYI BY AMBASSADOR Ibrahim ADAMU LAMUWA (PERMANENT SECRETARY MINISTRY OF Foreign AFFAIRS)
I am compelled to write to inform you of a formal complaint against the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador lbrahim Adamu Lamuwa on allegations of sexual harassment.
Bearing in mind the gravity of the matter, I feel it necessary to draw your attention to it and ask that you handle it accordingly.
Please find attached a copy of the complaint I received via email. May I also assure you that I remain available to provide you with any assistance required in discharging your responsibilities.
