Bauchi State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning has held public hearing on the 2022 budget across the 3 senatorial zones of of the state.
Speaking at the closing of the hearing conducted at Zaranda Hotel for Bauchi South, the State Commissioner of the ministry, Aminu Hammayo said the hearing is to get inputs from the citizens in line with government’s resolve to have an all-inclusive budget.
“The public hearing is to get input from people especially at the grassroots level before the formulation of the budget”.
“Government wants to allow wider participation as this will create a sense of ownership and sustainability of government projects and policies,” he said.
Hammayo said the process is in line with the provisions of the law in budget preparation and the present administration is people-oriented that carries everyone along.
“It gives government the opportunity to interact with the people and the civil society organisations to listen to their contributions and get feedback on the previous budget performance”.
He urged all participants to provide valuable inputs that represents the interest of the people they represent.
Also speaking, the commissioner of the ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdulrazak Zaki said the present administration is committed to providing people-friendly and projects that will impact positively on the lives of the citizens.
Participants at the hearing include Civil Society organisations. NGOs and persons with disabilities.
