Traditional rulers and community leaders in Niger State have been urged to play an active role in sensitizing their people about the vision and opportunities of the Niger Foods initiatives.
The Chairman of Niger Foods, Sammy Adigun, made the call during an interface in his office with the Hakimi of Akare District and his village heads, stressing the need for collective support in mobilizing farmers and providing access to arable land for agricultural development.
Adigun explained that Niger Foods is committed to equipping farmers with modern tools, skills, and resources to boost food production while creating wealth for rural households.
According to him, the company’s agribusiness model is designed to add value to the efforts of smallholder farmers by improving access to mechanization, quality inputs, and markets.
“Agriculture is at the heart of Niger State’s prosperity. But for us to fully unlock its potential, communities must key into our vision. We need farmlands, we need farmers, and we need leaders like you to help us mobilize and enlighten the people. Niger Foods will continue to stand by our farmers by providing the support they need to thrive,” he said.
In his remarks, the Hakimi of Akare, Ibrahim Babangida, pledged his community’s full cooperation with Niger Foods’ initiatives aimed at strengthening rural farming and positioning Niger State as a leading food hub.
Babangida praised the vision of Niger Foods, particularly its focus on equipping farmers with modern tools, quality inputs, and market access. He said the people of Akare are eager to participate in programs that would improve food security and create wealth.
