ASHENEWS reports that a Muslim charity group, MyFundAction Nigeria on Monday donated 100 copies of the Quran to students of two Islamic schools in Niger State.
The benefitting schools include Madarasatu Zaid Bin Thabit and Markazul Hudal Islam Minna”.
The Country Director of MyFundAction Nigeria, Sheikh Dauda Mohammed Thabit while speaking to journalists explained that the initiative, tagged Ramadan Quran Waqaf Program for Africa was organized in collaboration with Madarasatu Abi Musa Al’ash’ari.
Thabit said that the initiative was part of efforts by the groups to provide a conducive learning environment for the students.
He said that the group intends to strengthen its support by constructing mosques and Islamic schools to complement this drive in the country.
He, therefore, solicited support from parents and community leaders in achieving its goal.
“We urge community leaders and parents to come together and invest in the broad- moral ethos and religious excellence in their children.
“The kids we are raising today and some of the youngsters roaming around, no matter how adorable and cute they are, they won’t remain kids forever, they will grow to become adults and leaders who will build the nation of tomorrow,” he said.
He also enjoined parents to accord the same importance they ascribe to vocational and Western education to the acquisition of Islamic education.
According to him, “the Holy Qur’an is the constitution of life for a true Muslim. It illuminates one’s life and clearly states the fundamental principles people must live by in order to succeed in this life and in the hereafter.
“When children learn the Qur’an and understand it, they will be able to differentiate between what is right and wrong. Teaching children about Islam is a collective responsibility for parents, neighbors, and the community at large.
“These parents are lacking funds to support their children’s Qur’anic education by buying them copies of the Holy Quran and other things needed. That is why MyfundAction made it a goal to distribute one hundred (100) copies of the Holy Quran to Madarasatu Zaid Bin Thabit and Markazul Hudal Islam Minna,” he said.
