Vice President Kashim Shettima departed Abuja on Sunday to attend the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Shettima is representing President Bola Tinubu at the summit, where he will join other political and business leaders from across West Africa and beyond.
The summit is scheduled to hold today, Sunday, July 19, at the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre in Freetown.

It will focus on key policy decisions and strategic resolutions, while reaffirming the leaders’ commitment to peace, democracy, economic growth, and regional integration.
The gathering will bring together Heads of State and Government, ministers, senior officials, and regional institutions to advance security, economic integration, trade, and sustainable development.
Shettima is expected to return to Abuja at the end of his engagements in Sierra Leone.
