Two men have been confirmed dead following the collapse of a three-storey building under construction on Friday night in Yaba, Lagos.
The Acting Head of the Lagos Operations Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Ibitayo Adenike, confirmed the development in an interview on Saturday.
According to her, two bodies have so far been recovered, while four others were rescued alive and are currently receiving medical treatment.

She explained that the building, located at No. 333 Borno Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, caved in around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, trapping several people beneath the rubble.
Adenike added that search and rescue operations were still ongoing, noting that the number of people still trapped could not be ascertained until the structure was completely cleared.
Emergency responders at the scene include the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Building Control Agency, the Nigeria Police Force, and other first responders.
