A terrible accident happened on Tuesday, September 2, in Abiriba, a town in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State.
A trailer carrying tiles and imported doors lost control and crashed near Enuda High School in Agbo Court, Abiriba.
People who saw the crash said it was very serious. Four people died right away, and five others were badly injured. The injured were quickly taken to Okezie Ikpeazu Midwifery Hospital in Akahaba, Abiriba, where they are now being treated.
The accident has left the whole community in shock and sadness. Locals said the scene was very upsetting. Pictures from the site are too graphic to show in public.
Officials are trying to contact the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Abia State to get more information and an official statement about what caused the crash.
Meanwhile, an investigation is expected to begin soon. People in the area are calling on the government to take quick action to stop such accidents from happening again.
