Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to tackling insecurity and creating an enabling environment for sustainable socio-economic development.
Echono made the statement at the burial ceremony of the Chief Minister of Odugbo, A’adu Odugbo (Igbene Enogela), in Odugbo-Ochekwu, Apa Local Government Area of Benue State.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Michael Abu on behalf of the Ai’Ekpa Family of Odugbo-Ochekwu.
Echono, a prominent son of the community, assured residents of Odugbo and the wider Apa area that the insecurity affecting parts of the local government would soon be addressed through the efforts of the Federal Government and security agencies.
He said the Tinubu administration remained committed to restoring peace, protecting lives and property, and accelerating development across the country.
Echono urged the people to remain united and support government efforts to achieve lasting peace and progress.
He expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and vision for a secure, prosperous, and united Nigeria.
The burial ceremony attracted dignitaries, community leaders, traditional rulers, family members, and other well-wishers who paid their last respects to the late Chief Minister — a position next in rank to the paramount ruler, Ejila.
The late Pa Enogela, who headed the Ai’Ekpa family, is survived by his wife, four daughters, grandchildren, and his only surviving son, Sunday Igbene.
Sunday Igbene is the Special Assistant to the TETFund Executive Secretary and a former Personal Assistant to the Secretary to the Benue State Government.
