…Niger govt partners council, commission on wind energy development
ASHENEWS reports that the Niger State governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has entered into a tripartite agreement with an energy consulting group, the Energy Commission of Nigeria, and the Global Wind Energy Council on wind energy development in Niger State.
The partnership mandates the parties to collaborate to promote wind energy development and establish a joint implementation Committee on renewable development (wind) comprising the representatives of all entities to fulfill the terms of the deal.
The agreement also stipulates that while the Energy Commission of Nigeria will serve as implementing Agency, the global wind energy Council will provide research and analysis on wind power development in Niger State.
A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger state governor, Bologi Ibrahim also said that collaboration is for five years and may be extended further depending on renegotiations by all parties involved.
