Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on the governors of Kebbi, Sokoto and Niger States, to  jointly come up with formidable strategies and assist flood victims in their various states.

The Sultan spoke on Friday, when he paid a courtesy call on Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, at Government House, Birnin Kebbi to sympathise with the government and people of the state over the flood which ravaged the state.

The Sultan, who noted that, all natural disasters like flood were ordained by the Almighty Allah, said that, they must be faithfully accepted by Muslims.

“We are also here to sympathise with the government, our brothers and sisters who have been affected by the recent floods in the state”.

According to Abubakar ” There is nothing one can do in such situations than to accept whatever happens in good faith , as we are not supposed to question God’s actions.

“However , the three states are one and the same ,in spite of any political , ethnic or cultural differences.

“Therefore, it is imperative that, the three states take uniform actions to come to the aid of the flood victims, as soon as possible.”

Abubakar further extolled the centuries old long bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Kebbi and Sokoto states.

The Sultan also commended the Kebbi state government for its proactive actions to assist the flood victims.

He also noted with satisfaction, the roles the state governments were playing in ensuring sustenable peace, unity and socioeconomic prosperity of the states and Nigeria, in general.

He described Bagudu as a friend, relative and brother, just as he said that, the visit was to strengthen the bond of relationship between the two states.

Responding, Bagudu lauded the Sultan for the historic visit, to commiserate with the people and government of the state on the devastation caused by the flood disasters.

The governor decried that, no fewer than 500,000 hectares of rice farmlands were submerged by the floods and the attendant losses.

While noting the renewed spirit of self help as a result of the floods, Bagudu disclosed that, the donation of the Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari was distributed to the victims in the state, Friday .

In the same vein, the Kebbi Governor disclosed another donation of N 100 milion , in aid of the flood victims by the Chairman of BUA Cement, Alhaji Abdusssamad Isyaku Rabiu, while more donations were being expected.

He again extended the sympathy and condolences of President Muhammadu Buhari, to the victims.

The Sultan was accompanied on the visit by Wazirin Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu and other members of his council while the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammdu Iliyasu Bashar, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Ismail Muhammadu Mera, district heads, Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammed Argungu (Jarman Kabi) , the SSG, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri recieved the Sultan at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
