North West University Sokoto commences admission into degree programmes

The North West University Sokoto (NWUS) has commenced admission into degree programmes for the 2022/2023 academic session.

This is contained in a statement by the Registrar of the University, Umar Musa Garun Babba made available to newsmen on Thursday.

According to the statement, suitably qualified applicants should apply for admission into the Faculty of Computing and Science, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Management and Social Sciences of the newly established North West University Sokoto for the 2022/2023 academic session.

The Programme offered in the Department of Accounting and Finance is B.Sc Accounting and B.Sc Banking and Finance; Department of Business Administration, B.Sc Business Administration; Department of Economics, B.Sc Economics and Department of Public Administration, B.Sc Public Administration

Also, programmes offered in the Department of Information Technology are B.Sc. Cyber Security, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Software Engineering and B.Sc. Information Technology. In the Department of Biology, B.Sc. Biology is offered; Department of Physics, B.Sc. Physics with Electronics and Department Mathematics, B.Sc. Industrial Mathematics programme is offered.

Similarly, B.Ed. Educational Technology is offered in the Department Education Foundation; B.Ed. Library and Information Science in the Department of Library and Information Science  and B.Ed. Special Education in the Department of Special Education                                       

The requirements for entry into the Faculty of Computing and Science are: (i) Five credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC/NECO/SSE-GCE ‘O’ level papers, or certificate in related field and (ii) A minimum of 140 JAMB Cut-Off Marks (should be in line with UTME subject combination)

The requirement for entry into the Faculty of Education are: (i) Five credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC/NECO/SSE-GCE ‘O’ level papers, or certificate in related field and (ii) A minimum of 140 JAMB Cut-Off Marks (should be in line with UTME subject combination)

Requirements for entry into the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences are: (i) Five credits, including English and Mathematics in WAEC/NECO/SSE-GCE ‘O’ level papers, or certificate in related field and (ii) A minimum of 140 JAMB Cut-Off Marks (should be in line with UTME subject combination).

“Applicants willing to apply should log into the JAMB’s admission portal https://www.jamb.org.ng,” and select North West University Sokoto, adding that additional information could be found on the University’s website https://www.nwus.edu.ng or https://www.nwus.com.ng.

The closing date for all applications is November 30, 2022.
