Khalipah Isyaku Rabi’u University Kano (KHAIRUN), one of the fastest-growing private universities in Nigeria, has announced a new collaboration with SolaceBase, an online newspaper, aimed at enhancing media coverage and fostering the academic growth of the young institution.

The Vice Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, emphasized that the university chose to partner with SolaceBase due to the online newspaper’s reputation for accurate and balanced reporting.

“This partnership marks a step forward in bridging the gap between academia and the media, promoting a more informed and educated society,” the Vice Chancellor said.

Speaking on Wednesday at the university premises in Kano, Prof. Garba lauded SolaceBase for its unwavering commitment to journalistic integrity and its impactful role in Nigerian media.

“We are delighted to collaborate with SolaceBase online newspaper, a publication renowned for its credibility and dedication to balanced reportage. This partnership will not only benefit our university but also contribute to the broader dissemination of truthful and informative news,” he stated.

The Vice Chancellor mentioned that the university currently offers 16 undergraduate programs approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). These programs include three in allied medical sciences, three in engineering, and ten in science and computer courses.

According to him, the institution is now a member of various national and international university leagues, enjoying all the rights, privileges, intents, purposes, and expectations that come with such memberships.

“All things being equal and by the special grace of God, we intend to start our Law program before the end of the year,” Garba added.

He further explained that the university was established without a profit-oriented mindset, aiming to fulfill the noble dream of the late Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu, the philanthropic founder, who envisioned creating access to quality education from primary school to tertiary institution levels.

The Vice Chancellor noted that the university obtained its license from the Federal Government in May 2022 and the National Universities Commission (NUC). He highlighted the institution’s modern and well-equipped laboratories, uninterrupted electricity supply, water, sports arena, comfortable hostels, student center, state-of-the-art library, and smart classrooms.

On his part, the Publisher of SolaceBase, Abdullateef Abubakar Jos, expressed gratitude to KHAIRUN for the opportunity to partner with such a prestigious international educational institution. He assured that SolaceBase would deliver on its promises, leveraging its experienced team to provide comprehensive coverage of university events, activities, and well-researched in-depth reportage.

“We are honored to be chosen by KHAIRUN, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of journalism that have earned us this partnership,” Jos remarked.
