The chairman of Heirs Holdings, and United Bank for Africa (UBA), Tony Elumelu, has denied a report that he is being considered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the position of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor.
One Imran Muhammad, on his X handle @Imranmuhdz, had on June 12, claimed that presidential sources told him that Elumelu is being considered for the top job at the apex bank.
“According to a source, President Tinubu is also considering Tony O. Elumelu as CBN Governor.”
But Elumelu, in a tweet on his official X handle @TonyOElumelu, denied Muhammad’s tweet.
“No, please. This is false news!” the UBA boss denied.
