ASHENEWS reports that the Kano State Police Command has disclosed that it so far identified 52 suspected criminals that are alleged to be behind the increase in insecurity and related criminal activities in

The Commissionet of Police, Mohammed Gumel, who led a convoy of patrol team along Kano-Kaduna expressway, to assess security deployments, manpower gaps and the state of Police equipment, on Friday, also engaged critical stakeholders at Kwanar Dangora, Kiru LGA, Kano State and its neighbouring areas.

Gumel also invited the 52 suspected criminal arrowheads for dialogue that would pave the way for criminal-free Kano state, while inviting members of the community to work with the police to carefully profile the suspected criminals living in the surrounding areas.

The engagements, according to a statement by the spokesperson of the Command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, made available to ASHENEWS on Saturday, stemmed “from the early warning signs of the threat of infiltration of bandits and related criminal activities in the area.

“The effort is also targeted at reviewing the security plans along the border LGAs of Kano-Kaduna Expressway and confidence building for the overall peace and well-being of all the residents of the State.

During the engagements, the CP appreciated the local government chairman, the District Head and other key stakeholders for their continuous support and contribution to the Police in ensuring peace and security currently being enjoyed at Kiru Kwanar Dangora and the State at large.

Gumel assured the residents that the Police Command will remain committed to fighting crime and providing a safe and secure environment for everyone to enjoy in all parts of the State.
