The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, sacked 20 members of the House of Assembly in Cross River, for defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The PDP had in a suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/975/2021, challenged the lawmakers’ defection from the party under which platform they were elected to office.
Justice Taiwo Obayomi in a judgement, held that the lawmakers needed to vacate their seats since they had abandoned the party which brought them to power.
