The Borno State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (BOSCHMA) has unveiled a health insurance scheme for tertiary students at Kashim Ibrahim University of Maiduguri.
Dr. Saleh Kaza, Executive Secretary of BOSCHMA, announced the new Tertiary Students Health Insurance Programme (TSHIP) during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Babagana Gutti, on Friday.
Kaza said the programme was designed to provide students with access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
He added that university staff would also benefit from a separate health insurance programme.

The Executive Secretary emphasised that health insurance coverage for students and staff of tertiary institutions is critical, and called for collaboration between BOSCHMA and the university to ensure wider coverage and improved well-being.
Responding, Prof. Gutti expressed appreciation to Dr. Kaza and his team for the visit and the proposed collaboration. He assured BOSCHMA of the university’s full support toward the successful implementation of the programme.
