“ICCES has taken the common decision that no politician will henceforth be allowed to be visiting any collation centre”

#NigeriaDecides2023 – In efforts to manage election victories and losses in Sokoto state, the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), has warned politicians against visiting collation centres.
The move, according to state lead of ICCES, CP Muhammed Usaini Gumel, is “as we approach the last phase of the electoral process and envisage the announcement of result any moment from now.”
He said that ICCES had began “township patrol and reinforcement of some High-Risks locations and various collation centers to prevent security breach.”
The Commissioner of Police therefore sought “the cooperation of all stakeholders to put their trust on the committee as we are committed to protecting the integrity of the elections.”
“On the foregoing therefore, ICCES has taken the common decision that no politician will henceforth be allowed to be visiting any collation centre.”
