The Nasarawa State Government has pledged support for the N6.4 billion Doma Agrocity Project designed to empower 1,000 farming households through sesame cultivation and processing for export. The project follows a memorandum of understanding between the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority (LBRBDA) and Amisek Industrial Company Limited for 1,000 hectares at Doma Dam. The chairperson of the African Union Commission has warned that the continent’s debt crisis is undermining development. Speaking in Ethiopia at a G20-Africa high-level dialogue on debt sustainability, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, said public debt has grown to about $1.8 trillion.
