An NGO, Connected Development (CODE) on Tuesday organised a townhall meeting over N191 million constituency projects in six local government areas in Kaduna North Senatorial District, Kaduna state. The projects were being facilitated by Sen. Suleiman Kwari (APC Kaduna North) and Rep. Tajudeen Abbas (APC Zaria Constituency), captured in the 2020 and 2021 budgets. It said the country confirmed 584 additional infections on Monday, from the 541 recorded on Sunday, bringing the total cases to 183,087. The NCDC Director-General, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, made the disclosure in Abuja on Monday. Ihekweazu listed the states to include Benue, Delta, Zamfara, Gombe, Bayelsa, Kogi and Sokoto. Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) on Monday, donated 843 mobile cell phones to Kaduna Command of the Department of State Services (DSS). Coordinator of SON in the state, Mr Qasseem Yahaya, said that the mobile cell phones were seized from importers who violated import regulations. Iranian Ministry of Health says the much more contagious Delta variant of the Coronavirus was causing a wave of deaths in Iran with new highs almost daily. According to the ministry on Monday, there was a record of 655 deaths within the past 24 hours, 35 more than the peak the day before. Over 41,000 new infections were registered in the same period. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has suspended the ongoing Continuous Voters’ Registration exercise in five local governments of Plateau.
