The Police Command in Zamfara has confirmed the killing of the District Head of Gada in Bungudu local government area of the state, Umaru Bawan-Allah and four others. The Lagos State House of Assembly on Wednesday evening, passed the 2022 budget estimates of N1.758 trillion presented by governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The budget was passed at a sitting presided over by the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, sequel to a presentation of the budget report by Gbolahan Yishawu, Chairman, House Committee on Economic Planning and Budget. The Nigerian government on Wednesday released N16.67 billion for the payment of accrued pension rights to 2021 retirees of Treasury-funded Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). This is contained in a statement signed by the Head, Corporate Communications Department, National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mr Peter Aghahowa, and made available to newsmen in Lagos. Aghahowa said that the federal government had earlier settled all arrears of accrued pension rights payments to the verified and enrolled retirees up to December 2020.
